Message It is not a permanent solution to preventing water from
entering places. WD-40 also has a tendancy to "shelac" in
higher temperature situations which could create signal
loss. WD-40 is the most temporary way to actively prevent
corrosion.

As for the starter wire being weather-pack, it does not
have the wire protection gasket. There are far more
unprotected connectors on our cars, then protected
connectors.
